How did you get into creating music?
My mother is a musician, she plays violin professionally so I was always surrounded by music. As a little kid I remember her getting ready for concerts, wearing beautiful gowns.
I started playing violin when I was 4 years old and obtained a vocational diploma as a violinist at the age of 18. I always knew and felt that classical music is not for me, I wanted to create, write and be free from any rules. I rekindle my passion for music through guitar and songwriting.
Where do you get your inspirations from ?
Everywhere. Sometimes it is a sentence or a word I hear someone say, conversation, a scene I witness, book, painting, photograph, movie or a melody that randomly appears in my head. I merge it with my memories, views on art and life, philosophy and create a construct, concept that I built songs around.
It is almost like writing a little novel. Who is the main character? What are they like? What do they look like? Where do they live? How can I present the emotions present in the story through music?
At the same time I love to experiment with guitar effects. I love to play around with settings and play random stuff and sometimes I come across a riff that inspires me to build a story around it.
Use three words to describe your music!
Charismatic, visual, emotional
What’s your favourite song of yours and why?
I really like ‘Pretty Boy’. I like the quirkiness, it's stupidity with a little taste of drama. Also I love the guitar effect we chose for the main guitar. And the chorusssss is so fun! I also love ‘Kind Regards’. The song is not available on streaming services but those who attended my concerts heard it many times before. It is a piano driven, cabaret, ragtime piece with lyrics “Fuck you and your stupid little face”. Joyful and cathartic.
Tell us one artist you are listening to right now!
I fell in love with guys from Mawpit. Fantastic new band, talking about really important matters regarding our environment and those rifffs! So tasty and Cait’s melodies and voice are stunning. Totally everyone should go and check them out! My favourite song is Nature’s Curse.
Who would you like to collaborate with the most?
Electric Wizard. Or Jack White. Or some fantastic pop tune with Lizzo.
Or Lady Gaga if she is gonna write Artpop #2.
Where is your favourite place you have ever performed?
I loved performing at the Shindig festival on a small acoustic stage. Very green, close to nature and absolutely lovely, welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
I also loved Komedia in Bath playing with a whole band!
Where is the one place you dream of performing?
I think every gig is equally special and important for me. I love making music and performing so every next gig I have booked in my calendar is the one I dream of.
Cheesy but true.
What are you most looking forward to in 2021?
I started working with new musicians, I have also written quite a lot of new material. I am super excited to get back into the studio and give birth to some new tunes. Super hyped!
What are you working on next?
I have a single ready, I’m currently working on the visuals. Pop rock, equality and freedom of expression anthem is on the way!
Also, like I mentioned I have written a lot of new material so I’m looking forward to bringing it to life with a full band and then recording it. Songs will involve paint, beef and car rides as well as a lot of chorus and distortion on guitar.
